last words of my twenties

In just a couple of hours, I'll be celebrating my dirty 30 right at the start of Dirty August (get your mind clean ;) -it's a wildland fire term).

My 29th year has been fantastic. I had a grand time turning 29 adventuring in Durango & Moab with the Alabama crew that calls Colorado home, Kaitlyn & Steele. Steele & I were able to visit Alaska again and hang out in Talkeetna for the first time. My fall climbing season was the best I had with partners I completely trusted, & I was able to push into higher grades and regaining confidence.

The late fall saw an abrupt change in our life with losing my job due to budget cuts. Within just an hour of processing that, I was talking to people about the grand roadtrip Steele and I were about to embark upon! Six weeks of packing & planning later- Kaitlyn, Steele, Sahara, and I were on the road to Yosemite to watch climbing history be made. Kaitlyn helped us get settled into Joshua Tree & then said her goodbyes as we each started new chapters in our lives! What an amazing ride it has been since then!

The S Tribe (Steele, Sahara, and myself) visited Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Utah, and Nevada during our time on the road. Sahara and I also made a short trip without the little to Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. I wish I knew how many miles of the good life we lived.

Now I've settled into the Evergreen state for seasonal work with the Forest Service & could not ask for a better group of people to work with each day!
